Pamper Me in Style

September 9, 2018 by Ian_Morgan

Arts Project April – June 2017

The aim of the program is to increase knowledge of family violence and the capacity to build support systems of women on correction orders, through a safe and supportive environment.

To build participants knowledge on family violence, including the underlying causes and impacts.

To build participants knowledge and confidence to prevent family violence, access information and build support systems.

To enable participants in building community networks to reduce social isolation.

To encourage participants to consider their self-care and wellbeing.

Artwork

A communal 3 D canvas depicting personal growth and self-care using the symbology of flowers, seeds and the environment was created for this project.

Participants painted and constructed their own flowers which were attached onto the prepared canvas. Whilst creating their flowers they were asked to consider their own self – care and wellbeing. With this in mind participants wrote a personal affirmation on the back of their flowers for future consideration.
